BODY TREATMENTS

Lipocavitation

In liposuction, a pen-like medical instrument called a “cannula” is used to suction out subcutaneous fat from under your skin. But with Lipo Cavitation, you won’t be poked, prodded, or injected with anything. Instead, a medical professional uses an ultrasound device to perform the procedure.

How does it work?

The ultrasound device called a transducer, used in Lipo Cavitation procedures is calibrated only to target fat cells. When ultrasonic waves are directed to the area of fatty tissue you want to remove*, they damage the fat cell membranes. Because the device is calibrated only to target fat cells, no other damage will occur to surrounding tissues or organs.

SKIN WHITENING

Skin whitening is a treatment option for hyperpigmentation, or darkened areas of skin in the form of melasma, age spots, and sometimes freckles, and is often sought to repair sun-damaged skin. In some cultures, skin lightening, or whitening, is considered the path to achieving a pale or lighter skin tone and color. Individuals usually lighten skin through topical skin bleaching with topical chemicals, although certain cosmetic procedures, including chemical peels, may also be able to lighten a person's complexion.

How does it work?

Skin whitening contain an active ingredient or a combination of ingredients that reduces the amount of melanin in the skin where it is applied.

IPL FOR HAIR REMOVAL

IPL stands for intense pulsed light, and it is a form of light therapy, used for various dermatological procedures including hair removal. IPL’s are NOT lasers. The machines produce a broad spectrum of wavelengths (like a light bulb) and cannot be focused to a concentrated beam. Because a range of different wavelengths are dispersed at a variety of depths only some of these will be effective for hair reduction.

How does it work?

Unlike laser treatments, which emit a specific wavelength, IPL works like a flash-lamp, sending out scattered wavelengths of light, making IPL very targeted. That also means it affects the pigment in your skin too, so IPL only really works for those with fair skin and dark hair.

SCLEROTHERAPY

Sclerotherapy is a procedure used to treat varicose veins and spider veins. Varicose veins refer to large, swollen, and raised veins that twist and turn. Spider veins are small swollen red, blue or purple colored vessels that also turn and twist.

How does it work?

Sclerotherapy does not require anesthesia and is usually done at the doctor’s office. The doctor will ask you to lie on your back and to elevate your legs slightly. After cleaning the affected area (or areas) with alcohol, the doctor then will insert a needle with sclerosant into the affected vein. This process should not last any longer than an hour.
