Why hire React developers from the Philippines
Senior React talent at $25-50/hr — 60% below US rates
A US-based senior React developer runs $90-150/hr through agencies, $70-110/hr direct. Same skill profile in Manila: $25-50/hr direct, $35-70/hr through me with managed service overhead. Output parity, currency arbitrage.
English-native developer culture
The Philippines is one of the largest English-speaking developer markets in Asia. Filipino senior engineers write code, comments, PR descriptions, and Slack messages in fluent business English. No awkward translation layer.
Real timezone overlap with US, Canada, Australia, and EU mornings
Manila is +13 hours from Pacific, +16 from Eastern, +3 from Sydney, +6-8 from Western Europe. Senior Filipino devs routinely keep evening (PHT) blocks for live standups with Pacific/Eastern teams or morning blocks for Sydney and EU teams.
Modern React stack fluency
Vetted devs are working in Next.js 14+, TypeScript, server components, React Query / SWR, Zustand or Redux Toolkit, Vitest / Playwright. Not still writing class components and calling it React.
What this engagement covers
- Direct senior React developer hire (1099 contractor or your-EOR W-2)
- Pre-vetted shortlists in 5-10 business days, not 6-week recruiter cycles
- Live technical interviews where I sit on the panel and give a second-opinion read
- Trial paid project (1-2 weeks) before long-term commitment
- Onboarding pack — Slack norms, standup cadence, code review rhythm tuned for offshore + onshore
- Replacement guarantee within 30 days if the fit is wrong
- Optional fractional CTO seat to oversee the React engineer integration
- Stack mix: React + Node, React + Laravel, React + Python (FastAPI/Django), React Native mobile
Frequently asked questions
What does "senior" actually mean in your Filipino React shortlists?
5+ years production React (so they were writing React before hooks dropped in 2019), 2+ years TypeScript, has shipped at least one app to production scale (10k+ users), comfortable making architecture calls without being told what to do, can articulate why they would NOT use a popular library. We do not pad junior engineers as senior.
Direct contractor or do you handle the contract / payroll?
Both options exist. Most clients hire the developer directly as a 1099 contractor (or via your EOR like Deel, Remote, or Pilot if you want W-2-style benefits). For US clients who want zero overhead, I can also bill you as the prime contractor and pay the developer underneath at a managed-service markup.
How fast from "I want to hire" to "developer is in our standup"?
Typical timeline: shortlist in 5-10 business days, your interviews over the following 1-2 weeks, paid trial week starts immediately after offer accepted. End-to-end usually 3-5 weeks from kickoff to fully onboarded. Faster than a US-direct senior hire by a wide margin.
What stacks do the React engineers usually pair with?
Most common combos: React + Node.js (Express, Fastify, NestJS), React + Laravel/PHP, React + Python (FastAPI or Django REST), React + .NET. About 30% of the bench is also strong on React Native for mobile. We can match by stack so the same engineer covers both your front-end and one backend layer.
What if the developer does not work out?
30-day fit guarantee. If within the first 30 days you decide the engineer is not right, I source a replacement at no additional cost and pause billing on the original engagement. The cost of getting a wrong hire is too high to lock you into one in.
